Verification process for the Emergency Center of Excellence designation (EmEx-Award)
EmEx-Award is our on-site verification process for the Emergency Center of Excellence designation. The Emergency Center of Excellence is the first national designation to recognize high-performing emergency departments. Emergency departments are recognized based on their results of over 100 Key Performance Indicators, each linked to one or more of the Seven Pillars of Excellence. Only those emergency departments with superior performance documented in EmEx-Compare may participate.
Top performing emergency departments that are awarded the Emergency Center of Excellence have a lot to be proud of. Emergency departments can use this designation in promotional materials and may see significant volume increases as the community learns of your emergency department’s reputation for superior emergency care. Emergency Excellence also will provide a high-quality plaque and draft a sample press release for your hospital. The Emergency Center of Excellence designation endures for two years, after which, hospitals may re-apply.
